Did you know that an apple supplies enough fuel for an hour-long workout? Contrary to urban myth, it may not wake you up faster than a cup of coffee but it certainly does pack a punch of low glycemic sugars that will give you a nice boost to the day!
I'm not about to give up my morning cup of coffee but this smoothie is the perfect pre-workout meal!
2 green apples (cored)
1 handful of spinach leaves
1/2 a heart of romaine bunch
8 - 10 oz coconut water
1/2 cucumber (peeled if not organic)
1 tbs honey
1 tbs flax oil
2 tbs hemp protein
pinch of Himalayan salt
