“Dearest Kerry, Words cannot express how grateful Derek, Alice and I are that you were part of Alice's journey from my belly to our arms. You know as well as anyone just how much we prepared and planned for Alice's arrival. Well, as so often happens in life, things didn't go exactly as we had pictured in our minds. It was, nonetheless, the most amazing day of our lives. While we were in the midst of all the changes that were happening, even with all our training, it was so tempting to surrender to frustration and disappointment. But, you were there, with a soft, gentle voice reminding me of the bigger picture. When I was running through all the things that were not going as I had planned, you were calmly helping refocus my attention on what was going as I had planned. That really helped empower me. Doctors, midwives and nurses are so busy (especially during rain storms, he he he). I am so grateful we had you to help focus us. I will never forget the fact that you were literally an angel God provided to help me that very special day. Thank you so much for answering your very obvious calling in life.
